Juli Bunting

Juli Bunting returned as a member of the WashCOG board after serving as executive director from 2019 to 2025. She also previously provided communications consulting to the board.
Bunting studied mass/speech communications at Moorhead State University and political science at the University of Texas in Arlington. She was a broadcast journalist in the Dakotas and Texas before moving to the Pacific Northwest in 1993. She was married to the late Kenneth F Bunting, who was a co-founding board member of WashCOG. She owned and operated an event management company specializing in large-scale nonprofit fundraising events.
In 2018, Bunting wrote a comprehensive report for Casey Family Programs, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Alliance for Education, the City of Seattle, and Seattle Public Schools on discipline disparities by race in public schools
Bunting recently relocated to Columbia, Missouri, where she volunteers with the Alfred Friendly Press Partners and continues to serve as a board member for WashCOG while enjoying her retirement.
