WashCOG newsletter: Legislative wrap-up, Sunshine Breakfast and honored legislators

The 2025 Legislative Session adjourned in April with no major losses for access rules, but also with no major strides toward bringing additional transparency to our state and local governments. We tracked our priorities and progress in our Olympia Watch.

Our annual Sunshine Breakfast drew a record crowd of access advocates, welcomed state Attorney General Nick Brown as the keynote speaker, and honored those who have made significant contributions to open government in 2024.

WashCOG continues to recognize legislators who pledge to not invoke the legally challenged “legislative privilege” that some claim permits them to withhold any legislative interaction from the public.
